About This Journal
The International Journal of Traditional Knowledge (IJTK) is a quarterly, open-access, peer-reviewed journal published by SASTRA Deemed University on Elsevier’s Digital Commons platform. IJTK provides a global platform to preserve, revitalize, and integrate traditional knowledge systems (TKS) with contemporary science, covering cultural, ecological, linguistic, scientific, and technological domains.
Why IJTK Matters Today
At a time when sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation are global priorities, IJTK addresses the urgent need to:
- Preserve and document indigenous knowledge before it is lost
- Highlight the role of TKS in tackling climate change, healthcare, food security, and biodiversity
- Promote ethical and equitable knowledge exchange between communities, scholars, and policymakers
- Bridge ancestral wisdom with modern research for a sustainable future
